A Few Biological Hazards Encountered During Sewage Cleanup

Orange County Sewage Cleanup

Call me Eddie Evans. My home in Cypress serves as my headquarters for Orange County sewage cleanup work. I also do other sorts of cleanup work. I'm known as a "professional cleaner." So sewage cleanup in Orange County helps me pay my bills, but not all of them. I try to work in every city within Orange County as a sewage cleanup guy and other types of cleanup. If your care to read about issues I'm involved in for my good and the good of Orange County tax payers, you might care to visit Orange County Consumer Fraud and Orange County Government Fraud.

Because I live at Orange County's western area, to service my Orange County sewage cleanup customers in Orange County's eastern area requires some time to reach. Logically enough, I find most of my sewage cleanup business in the western area of Orange County. When I do service fo Orange County sewage cleanup in the East it's usually for one or two reasons:

  • Sewage cleanup can wait a few hours.
  • Sewage cleanup price carries a lot of decision-making weight.
  • Sewage cleanup services are not covered by a homeowner's insurance.
  • Seage cleanup services are not covered by a business owner's insurance.
  • Sewage cleanup services by Eddie Evans cost less than a home owner's insurance deductable.
  • Sewage cleanup services by Eddie Evans cost less than a bussiness owner's insurance deductable.
  • Sewage cleanup services required occur in early hours allowing for a quick response almost anywhere in Orange County.

As you might guess, insurance and travel play a major role in my Orange County sewage cleanup business. If you have water running into your home, you need a plumber, at least. You also need a quick response from a company like mine. If you have no insurance, you do need me.

My Orange County sewage cleanup and water cleanup services remain available every day, too. Call at any hour. If I'm already busy somewhere else in Orange County, I can do sewage cleanup for you later. We must keep in mind that Orange County's traffic slows to a crawl during the day.

What I do.

Any sewage cleanup company will tell you that they need electricity because they run power equipment. My sewage cleanup business is no different. I use vacuums, scrubbers, and other equipment. I must extract water, fecal matter, and paper. I must remove these offensive materials for proper treatment and disposal later. This too takes time, time not related to my actual sewage cleanup work. Some times home owner's neglect to think about these unseen duties related to my work. For me, it's as important as removing sewage from a home or business. I must remove it from the face of our Earth for public health reasons.

At times my sewage cleanup activities become, basically, water cleanup activities. My extraction equipment may make some noise, so middle-of-the-night sewage cleanup in Orange County does not go over well in apartments.

To do my joub I must remove fecal matter, toilet paper, and other sewage soiled items. I sanitize sewage soiled floors. This entail using different chemicals, including household bleach. I don't feel that I've sanitized until bleach goes on the floor. Then I rinse. I scrub and sinse with cleaning solutions that include disinfecting chemicals; these chemicals are easily found on market shelves. Valuable materials must dry out. Category 3 materials consisting of fabric usually go to a landfill when dried out. If residents want to keep them, find. I cannot be responsible for their handling. Non-porrous materials offer rew problems when it comes to cleaning and saniztizing.

If your toilet works and flushes without clogging, my work ends and I get paid after sewage removal.

If your toilet works, flushes, and clogs, I may offer to use a toilet plunger if you would rather not. I get paid in any case. It's your plumber's part to fix a clogged toilet, not your sewage cleanup person. Plumbers in the Orange County area usually have plenty of experience at this. This toilet connects to a community's sanitary sewer, and plumbers usually know quite a bit about it.

Self-Employed

I own my company and I do my own work. In the past I've work alone most of the time. For a short period of time I did use casual labor to help carry equipment to larger jobs and from these sewage cleanup sites. Now I use labor ready labor when I Because I'm self-employed, my fees usually come in lower than my competitors with employees. No workman's compensation, no social security for employees, no medical insurance for employees, and no vacation pay for employees allows by business to work with a low overhead. I enjoy working alone and always have. It may take me longer to do a thorough cleanup, but if you have time, I make have time.

Prices

If you need me within 24 hours of your first cleanup, I'll do your next cleanup for for $50 off the original cleanup fee. This business policy has one person in mind, you, a previous customer. In this small way I can help make life a tiny bit more fair.

Sanitary Sewer Defined

Here's my definition for sanitary sewers:

"Sanitary Sewer: A pipe used to transport human waste material. It does not include storm, surface or ground water."

"Seaward" in Old English helped to give sewage its meaning and usage. In London's early days, these sewage lines were actually open trenches leading to the Thames River. From the Thames all human effluents made their way to the open Atlantic Ocean. Sewage in those days as today carries certain pathogens, germs, as mentioned above. In London's early days people did not know about germs, but they knew enough about poop contaminated water to get rid of it as quickly as possible. Seaward it went.

As we can see, sewage cleanup in its early days meant working with shovels to redig trenches. Sewage cleanup meant moving dirt if not digging up soil and placing feces into ditches. We might guess that beside horrible odors, infectious diseases spread because of these open sewage trenches.

Sometimes in my sewage cleanup duties I find recent plumbing problems lead to toilet overflow as a result. Where one neighbor has a toilet fixed, another neighbor's toilet overflows. Sometimes these toilet overflows go unnoticed for hours, even days. When the offended party arrives home from work or vacation, shopping or wherever, they find they have a terrible mess. Naturally, for those who turn to a professional sewage cleanup company, they need only remain out of the way. For those who choose to cleanup their toilet overflow, figuring out what to do becomes part of their chore.

Most people complete their sewage cleanup work well enough, but find problems within days. Such problems arise when odors begin to occur. In a category 3 sewage cleanup, there's no saving carpet or carpet padding. It must go and it requires that the floor below receives a thorough cleaning and sanitizing.

Hollow logs served as sewer pipes in our United States once upon a time. From homes to creeks, to steams, to rivers, and finally to the oceans, sewage made its way to the Atlantic Ocean. As times passed a progress moved forward, cut stone slate became material for sewage removal to the ocean. It was in the 1820s that people in Europe began using circular pipes for sewage. The beauty of these round pipes proved very helpful when it came to helping sand and other solid waste move through sewers. It's hard to believe, but in our very early years of sewers in the United States, hollowed out logs served to carry sewage from homes to the nearest stream or larger water system. (Thank goodness for our modern Environmental Protection Agency!). Cut stone slate often serverd for sewer pipes, depending on the most avaible material. Because cut stone must carry sewage sludge long distances, it could only work when created as a long, boxed rectangle. Before long finding material to curve for reducing backup problems became the task at hand for municipalities.

Because experience with sewage pipes remained a fairly new practice in most places, unsealed joints allowed tree roots to invade sewage lines, clog effuents, and generally cause the quality of life to plummet quickly for most users. Without good joint binding with suitable sealers, water, dirt, and sand also added to stalling sewage movement in an orderly manner.

Cholera and samonella would raise their infectious ways during these times and no one really understood the source of these diseases. Sewer pipes and water pipes would often run parallel to one another in the early days of indoor plumbing in the United States. We can imagine problems arising with indoor joint breaks in one, the other, or both.

In Orange County, Orange County homes for a short while after World War II received tarred paper rolls for the sewer pipes. As it turns out these quick solution piples worked fairly well and continue to do so. As long as their joints were sealed well with tar they allow no roots to enter. So long as nearby construction does not squash their strucuter, they continue to work well. Of course, there's no adding to these oil based pipes because doing so would require joining clay pipes to them, which does not work. In effect, there are no known temporary fixes to small area pipe breaks.

A Few Biological Hazards Encountered During Sewage Cleanup

Among illnsses and diseases created by sewage we find those bacteria leading to diarrhea, fever, cramps, and sometimes vomiting, headache, weakness, or loss of appetite. More serious illnesses arise from Ecoli, shigellosis, typhoid fever, salmonella, and cholera. These germs move to new hosts when people fail to wash their hands well and then touch their eyes and nose. Long fingernails help create habitat for these germs. Using a stiff, soapy brush dislodges most if not all of these germs when used in addition to warm, soapy water. Waterproof groves worn during sewage cleanup helps to reduce the odds of passing these germs to oneself and others.

  • A nice warm shower with lots of soap reduces the odds of passing on biohazards.
  • Clothes worn during sewage cleanup must receive thorough laundering.
  • Shower and change out of your work clothes before you leave work.
  • Do not keep your soiled work clothes with your other clothes.
  • Attend to open wound injuries immediately.

Keeping one's hands and clothes clean helps to ensure that dangerous germs do not enter your body or the bodies of those who live and work with you.
